William P. Hobby Airport - Public Art

Location: Houston, Texas

Designer/Architect: Christian Eckart

Duration: Apr 2015 - Dec 2015

Scope: This art commission, designed by Canadian born artist Christian Eckart of Houston, Texas, was for the William P. Hobby Airport in Houston. It was built by Soheil Mosun Limited, using 3/8" diameter solid clear anodized aluminum rod with custom cast aluminum corner pieces. The piece was based on a 12" x 12" grid pattern that was 60 modules high x 10 modules wide.

Highlights: Each of the (600) modules contained (10) different laminated dichroic glass colours, which continually change colours as you move through the space of the airport.
